Loft Insulation
One of the most cost-effective energy improvements available. Reduce heat loss through your roof by up to 25 percent — often fully funded.
What is Loft Insulation?
Loft insulation involves laying mineral wool or similar insulating material across the floor of your loft space, creating a thermal barrier between your heated living space and the cold roof above. Heat naturally rises, and without adequate insulation, a significant proportion of the warmth generated by your heating system escapes through the roof — up to 25 percent in an uninsulated home.
The current recommended depth for loft insulation in the UK is 270mm. Many older properties have no insulation at all, or have an inadequate depth that no longer meets modern standards. Topping up existing insulation to the recommended depth is a quick, affordable, and highly effective way to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Most loft insulation installations are completed within a single day and require no disruption to your living space.
How It Works
Loft Survey
Our surveyor inspects your loft space, measuring existing insulation depth, checking for ventilation, and identifying any issues such as damp, pests, or electrical hazards.
Preparation
The loft is prepared for installation. Any stored items are carefully moved, pipes and tanks are insulated where necessary, and adequate ventilation is ensured.
Installation
Insulation rolls are laid between and over the joists to achieve the recommended 270mm depth. Careful attention is given to edges, hatches, and around any obstacles.
Completion and Sign-Off
The installation is inspected, documented with photographs, and lodged with TrustMark. You receive a completion certificate confirming the work meets PAS 2030 standards.
Benefits of Loft Insulation

- No disruption to your living space
- Often fully funded through GBIS or HUG2
- Immediate improvement in home comfort
- Contributes to a better EPC rating
- Material lifespan of 40 years or more
Is Loft Insulation Right for Me?
If your loft has less than 270mm of insulation, or no insulation at all, a top-up or full installation will deliver immediate energy savings and comfort improvements. Loft insulation is suitable for most properties with an accessible loft space. If you receive qualifying benefits or live in a property rated D to G on your EPC, you may qualify for fully funded loft insulation under the Great British Insulation Scheme.
Relevant Accreditations
All loft insulation installations are carried out to PAS 2030 standards by trained and accredited installers. Work is lodged with TrustMark, providing consumer protection and warranty cover.
